Basics Plus provides training and work opportunities for adults with learning difficulties in Scarborough. Basics Plus is a social enterprise with 80+ learning disabled students and a diverse range of enterprise activities.
One such enterprise is visitor centre Betton Farm. The attraction includes many facilities such as tea rooms and restaurant, a farm shop and children’s animal farm and play park.
A £50,000 loan from Unity helped Basics Plus invest in a new electricity generator for their popular tea rooms and visitor shop, to meet increased demand.
