Unity Trust Bank has commissioned a special award to mark the 50th anniversary of St Anne’s Community Service.
St Anne’s is one of the North’s leading person-centered charities, delivering care and support to 1,600 adults every year.
St Anne’s Community Service has banked with Unity since 2010. Relationship manager Michael Wicks presented the award to CEO Azra Kirkby to celebrate the organisation’s half century milestone.
Michael said: “We’re proud of our long-standing relationship with St Anne’s, whose values and ethos are closely aligned with our own.
“This award is to recognise the tremendous impact the charity has had in supporting vulnerable adults in the north of England over the past five decades, and the vital work it continues to do to help people lead independent lives.”
St Anne’s Community Service was founded as a daytime shelter in Leeds in 1971 in response to the growing number of homeless and socially excluded people in the city.
Over the years it has expanded its reach and today offers a wide range of support including nursing, respite, residential and domiciliary care, day centres and homelessness services, supported housing, outreach and substance misuse and harm reduction programmes.
St Anne’s has extensive experience and specialist skills in supporting individuals with complex needs and has also become the largest voluntary sector provider of services for people with learning disabilities in North Yorkshire.
Azra said: “We pride ourselves on delivering a diverse range of services with the service user at the heart of everything we do.
“Our vision is ‘a life without limits for the people we support’ and we will continue to develop and grow and ensure they have fulfilled lives.
“We are proud to be a customer of Unity Trust Bank and thank them for this award and for their continued support.”
