Unity Trust Bank celebrates Social Enterprise Day

Published: November 19, 2020

Unity Trust Bank is proud to support social enterprises across the UK on Social Enterprise Day today, November 19.

Social Enterprise Day 2020 is part of Global Entrepreneurship Week and an opportunity for social enterprises to showcase the positive work they are doing.

To celebrate the day, Social Enterprise UK invites social enterprises to share their stories via the digital campaign #WhoKnew and raise awareness of how organisations work as a social enterprise.

Mark Clayton, Chief Operating Officer at Unity Trust Bank, said: “Our mission is to  create a better society and we lend to businesses and organisations whose values are aligned to ours.

“Social enterprises are committed to delivering economic and social benefits to the communities they serve. They drive positive change and make a difference to society and we’re proud to work with social enterprises across a range of sectors.”

Social enterprises that have been supported by Unity this year include not-for-profit Business Enterprise Fund, which provided valuable financial support for more than 150 small businesses during the Covid-19 pandemic, and Canopy Housing, a social housing organisation which tackles homelessness and supports vulnerable adults.
