Our Accreditations

At Unity, we’ve been recognised for our continuous work as a socially responsible bank

Striving to make a positive impact to the lives of people in local communities.

From being the first bank accredited as a Living Wage Employer and the first to achieve the Fair Tax Mark to our Bronze Standard in Carbon Literacy and Gold Standard in Investors in People, working towards these achievements is not just about being awarded the ‘badge’. It’s part of our values and what we do to provide a better future for everyone.

The leading organisations we’ve been recognised by

Investors in People is a standard for people management, offering accreditation to organisations that adhere to the Investors in People Standard. We continue to achieve this by investment in our people with training, mentoring, coaching, supporting professional qualifications and recognising the contribution of our people.

Disability Confident logo

Disability Confident is creating a movement of change, encouraging employers to think differently about disability and take action to improve how they recruit, retain and develop disabled people. We do our best to make reasonable adjustments for candidates, colleagues and customers to ensure Unity is accessible to all.

Fair Tax logo

The Fair Tax Mark accreditation scheme seeks to encourage and recognise businesses that pay the right amount of corporation tax at the right time and in the right place.

A Carbon Literate Organisation (CLO), accredited by The Carbon Literacy Project, supports the development of a Carbon Literate workforce. The organisation is required to engage positively with its audience or community in developing and delivering low carbon behaviour.  We continue to achieve this by carrying on the conversation about carbon footprint both from an organisational and personal perspective including pledges to make reductions.

The National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (NACFB) is the UK’s largest independent trade body for commercial finance brokers.

A Living Wage Employer pays all directly employed staff a Living Wage, and has a plan in place to extend that to regular sub-contracted staff as well. The current Living Wage rates are £9.90 per hour and £11.05 in London.

Carbon Neutral Organisation logo

A Carbon Neutral Organisation has been awarded an internationally recognised standard for demonstrating low carbon credentials, including all stages of carbon management, from assessment and reduction to neutrality.

FSCB logo

Becoming an FSCB member is voluntary but makes a statement that a firm recognises the importance of good organisational culture – for employees, customers, clients, members and the financial services sector as a whole.

The Prince's Responsible Business Network logo

The Prince’s Responsible Business Network works with members to continually improve responsible business practices, leveraging their collective impact for the benefit of communities.

The Time to Change Employer Pledge is a commitment to changing the way we all think and act about mental health in the workplace.  We are proud to have Mental Health First Aiders available to our employees as well as offering and encouraging various approaches to help support people with their mental health including flexible working, virtual coffee mornings, interactive events and lunchtime activities such as Yoga are available onsite.

The Women in Finance Charter is a commitment by HM Treasury and signatory firms to work together to see fairness and gender balance at all levels across financial services firms.  We are pleased to confirm that, since signing up for Charter, we have achieved 46% representation in our executive, senior management team and board (as at 14 August 2021). We continue to aim towards achieving a 50% gender split in our Senior Management Team and across our workforce.
