Supporting Gender Equality

At Unity Trust Bank we believe our workforce should reflect the diversity of the communities we collectively serve.

We champion equality and inclusion, ensuring that all roles are open to everyone, regardless of gender. It really is about the best person for the job.

That’s why we signed up to the HM Treasury’s Women in Finance Charter.

By signing up to the Charter, we are pledging to promote gender diversity in the following ways:

  • Having one member of our senior executive team who is responsible and accountable for gender diversity and inclusion;
  • Setting internal targets for gender diversity in our senior management team;
  • Publishing progress annually against these targets in reports on our website;
  • Having an intention to ensure the pay of the senior executive team is linked to delivery against these internal targets on gender diversity.

At Unity, we report on the number of women in our executive and senior management teams as part of our annual social impact monitoring.

We are pleased to confirm that, since signing up for the Women in Finance Charter, we have achieved 46% representation in our executive, senior management team and board (as at 14 August 2021). We continue to aim towards achieving a 50% gender split in our Senior Management Team and across our workforce.
