At Unity Trust Bank, our lending helps organisations to grow and create a positive impact in their communities. For nearly 40 years, we have been working with socially minded customers to create jobs, fund apprenticeships, provide housing, and much more, to help people across the UK live better. You can read more about this on-the-ground support in our 2022 Half Year Report.
As part of our dedication to banking with integrity, we align our lending decisions to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Inspired by goal 17 which encourages the development of partnerships to further growth and stability, Unity joins and partners with selected local and national organisations that share our ambition to create a better society.
Working with these organisations, we extend the reach of our positive social impact. We help community-focused businesses grow further, contribute more to their local economy, and connect with other social enterprises. Here, we shine a spotlight on just some of our like-minded partners and groups, and celebrate their ongoing commitment to driving positive change:
For over 20 years Unity has been a member of the GBCC. Guided by similar values, together we help Birmingham’s businesses grow, improve local communities, and support the GBCC’s ongoing growth.
Through our membership with Responsible Finance, we work with Community Development Finance Institutions (CDFIs) that provide funding to SMEs and social enterprises which find it difficult to access fair finance through traditional routes.
A proud Patron of the NACFB since 2019, we received the prestigious ‘Socially Responsible Lender’ award for two years running, demonstrating how we strengthen our relationships with brokers and intermediaries to ensure that community-focused businesses have access to affordable finance.
We are a proud Patron of Social Enterprise UK (SEUK), the UK’s membership body for social enterprises. It leads the world’s largest network of businesses with a social purpose. Together, we are helping to create a fairer economy and a more sustainable future for everyone.
We are proud to partner with Centre for the New Midlands CIC, an independent, not-for-profit think tank. Together we work to discover new solutions to the Midlands’ biggest social and economic challenges. Together, we can ‘debate, shape and create’ a better region for all.
